Appointments
Cornerstone Veterinary Hospital staff members treat every patient with the utmost love and respect. We work by appointment only. Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability.
We offer the following appointment types to accommodate your schedule and your pet’s needs:
WELLNESS: These appointments are utilized for pets needing an annual check-up and/or vaccinations with no additional concerns. Also, for puppy/kitten first booster and final booster appointments.
SICK: These appointments are utilized for pets that have an illness or concern to address with the doctor which will typically take a little more time.
EXTENDED APPOINTMENTS: An extended exam fee may be incurred when additional services are requested beyond what was initially scheduled for the pet. There is no guarantee an additional service request may be accommodated, and staff may ask that an appointment be scheduled at a later time to address the request.
SAME DAY: These appointments are utilized for pets that have an urgent issue that can’t wait for traditional scheduling. These slots are first come, first served to established clients, and incur an exam fee at a higher rate than our office visit fee for the accommodation. These slots are limited each day and for the best chance to schedule, call at opening.
DROP OFF: These appointments are utilized for clients who can’t come at a specific time, pets that need extended amounts of time for diagnostics or treatment, pets that need sedation for diagnostics/treatments, etc.
TECHNICIAN: These appointments are utilized for pets needing routine nail trims, routine anal gland expressions, maintenance injections, heartworm injections, puppy/kitten second booster appointments, vaccine boosters, follow-up lab work, etc. These are performed under doctor supervision but are led by technicians. So, the technicians will be discussing everything with the client concerning the appointment.
SURGERY: These appointments are utilized for pets needing full anesthesia for a procedure such as a spay, neuter, growth removal, dental cleaning, etc. We currently are scheduling these procedures 5 days a week.
URGENT SURGERY: An additional fee is charged to accommodate an urgent surgery where staff must rearrange our receiving schedule. Please ask staff for the most current pricing.
CANCELLATION BOOK: We utilize a cancellation book to quickly fill any appointments that cancel, especially those who cancel with less than 24 hours' notice. Any type of appointment listed above can be placed in the cancellation book. Many times, we will offer this as an option if it is made known to us that there is a preference to get the pet in earlier than scheduled, but it is best to request to be placed in the cancellation book.
Emergency & Urgent Care
We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty 5 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent pet care. Emergencies can be things such as rat bait poisoning, being hit by a car, and chocolate ingestion. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment, please call first so that a team member can advise you on your particular emergency.
